FREEDOM FREEDOM FREEDOM

Slavery abolished more than 150 years ago, yet there are more people in slavery today than at any other time of our history. An estimated 21 million women, children and men are victims of human trafficking around the world. According to UNICEF, every 2 minutes a child is being prepared for sexual exploitation, and the average age of the victims is 12-14years. 70% of human trafficking victims are women.
All over the world, there are daily reports of violence against women, and sexual exploitation.

Human trafficking is a weapon against the future of young people. The future of some of our young people, especially women and children who are victims, have been shattered and their lives frustrated through the triumph of this evil act.

For several years now, rather than abate, the scourge, both at the domestic and international level has continued to thrive. Men, women and children fall into the hands of traffickers both in their own countries and abroad. Every country in the world is affected by human trafficking, whether as a country of origin, transit or destination for victims.

Martin Luther king (Jnr) said“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter.” It is high time the citizens, organisations, agencies, old and young stand up and speak out against this.

To put an end to these evil acts called human trafficking, rape & violence against women, we have initiated THE ACADEMYFOR PREVENTION OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND OTHER MATTERS (TAPHOM)
